CDcover As I write this, Sometimes is becoming Clay Davidson's second hit.  This beautiful ballad addresses a loved one's need to know… hear… what one may think the other knows the answer to… do I still turn you on, fill your every need, not sometimes, not almost always, etc…. "and I don't mean sometimes."

The title track Unconditional was also the debut single, and a big country hit (with crossover potential.  Perhaps it'll surface on pop and adult contemporary charts a year later like Lonestar's Amazed did).  A sentimental message song, this ballad tells a story of tough love.

The opening cut Makin' Hay is still country, but a relative rocker among the ballads.  Jason Sellers cowrote it with Marcus Hummon.  I Can't Lie To Me has some great B-3 organ work; Clay's vocals, and the tune's melody reminds one of Montgomery Gentry and maybe a little of Hank Jr.  ; Plain Ol' Pain is another up tempo tune.

One More Day and My Best Friend And Me are solo writing efforts of Clay Davidson. He shares writing credits on We're All Here, Come Rain or Shine, Doghouse Rights, as well as I Can't Lie To Me and Sometimes.

Side note - Jamie O'Neal does background vocals on Unconditional, Sometimes and Come Rain or Shine.
